About

Having grown up in the North East of England, I moved to the South East of the country to live and work for several years. A later move took me to Scandinavia.

Now, living back in North East England once again, transport links to two of the British Isles’ capital cities are easier than ever. Direct, fast train routes run from my nearest major railway station into the hearts of Edinburgh and London.

These two cities offer a wide range of engaging activities for visitors; museums, art galleries, theatres, concert halls, sports arenas and centuries-old architecture that can be easily explored on foot. Visitors may eat and stay in world-famous hotels and restaurants. They may choose a cosy bed-and-breakfast room to relax or a family-run tea shop to enjoy fresh, home-made cakes. The list is limitless!

This blog can only ‘scratch the surface’ in reviewing the facilities London and Edinburgh have to offer. I have fun visiting and writing about them – my hope is that you enjoy reading about them!

A final note: Talented photographers are always credited on this blog and links are provided to platforms where more of their work may be viewed.

Thank you for reading.
